Spiritual Healing
Question:
For the past thirty years, my sister has been suffering from an illness similar
to epilepsy. When she has a seizure, the suffering is so painful that I cannot
describe it. I do not understand why Allah has afflicted my sister with such a
hardship. We have sought spiritual treatments, amulets, and other remedies, and
have visited physicians, spiritual guides, and pious people in distant places,
but even after such a long period, there has been no improvement. Some ordinary
doctors have even declared her condition incurable.
When the time of the
seizure begins, she starts experiencing shortness of breath, speaks meaningless
words, falls to the ground, her entire body becomes stiff, her eyes turn
upward, and her condition becomes abnormal, as if someone has tightly gripped
her. This state continues for a few minutes. We lift her and place her on a
bed; then gradually she returns to normal. These seizures occur several times
in a month.
My sister developed
this illness when she was seven or eight years old. During her youth, she
remained free from seizures for almost four years. We thought that she had
finally been relieved of this condition, and she was married.
One year after her
marriage, the seizures started again. These episodes have made her life
extremely difficult. Whether she is travelling or anywhere else, there is no
fixed time for the seizure to occur. Sometimes we have even had to bring her
home after finding her in fields or other places. Once, while cooking food, she
fell onto the stove during a seizure, and her hand was burnt and became
paralysed. She continues to suffer some injury or another.
By the grace of
Allah, my sister has seven children. Two of her children have also been
married. Today, gathering courage, I present myself before you through this
letter. Kindly guide me and tell me a practice that I can perform for her,
because she is uneducated. Now even her mental faculties do not function as
well as before.
Considering your
spirit of serving humanity, I present this humble request before you. I hope
that you will not disappoint me.
Answer:
At night, before sleeping, take one spoonful of pure honey, recite (اَلرَّضَاعَتْ عَمَا نَوِیْلُ) once over
it, blow upon it, and give it to your sister. Continue this practice for ninety
days.
Reduce the use of
salt to the minimum. Take a glass measuring twelve by nine inches, have it
painted grey, and get it framed and hung at a place where it remains within her
sight.
