Pyorrhea, Gingival Bleeding, and Halitosis

 Question:

Blood frequently oozes from my teeth and gums. Consuming anything firm causes the gums to bleed, and upon waking in the morning, foul odors emanate from my mouth. I am scheduled to be married in two months. If this dental condition persists, my married life will be terribly impaired. Please prescribe a medicine or spiritual remedy through which I may find liberation from this wretched affliction.

Answer:

Diseases of the oral cavity and teeth are directly linked to the stomach. If the digestive system is functioning harmoniously and rigorous oral hygiene is observed, dental afflictions do not arise. The ailment afflicting you is known clinically as pyorrhea. In pyorrhea, pathological fluids accumulate within the gum tissues and become infected, discharging continuously along with purulent blood.

Alongside correcting your digestive health and attending scrupulously to dental hygiene, observe the following practice: every morning prior to sunrise, recite the phrase

Ilā ajalim-musammā

اِلیٰ اَجَلٍ مُسَمّٰی

once over a fresh spinach leaf, blow upon it, and chew the leaf thoroughly. While chewing, take careful precautions not to swallow the extracted saliva. After chewing it thoroughly, spit out the spinach residue. Repeat this practice three times during the day. Discontinue the use of a toothbrush; instead, apply toothpaste using your finger and massage your gums gently using your fingertip both at night before bed and in the morning on an empty stomach.
