Question:
I am severely distressed by my eldest son. He has
no inclination toward studies and behaves with utter insolence. When I try to
counsel him, he snaps: "Do not ruin my peace of mind!" He demands ten
rupees daily from me; where am I to produce ten rupees every day? He cruelly
confronts me: "Why did you bring me into this world? If you cannot sustain
yourself, how can you provide happiness for your children? I am humiliated
among my affluent friends." I am perpetually ill, yet he says: "What
was the necessity of bringing me into this world only to leave me disgraced and
destitute?" I am an employed woman and his mother, yet this ungrateful boy
has buried me alive while I yet breathe. My blood pressure never stabilizes,
and I have developed heart trouble. Now, even my employment is in jeopardy.
Prescribe a manageable spiritual remedy, and pray for us in the spiritual
gathering.
Answer:
Your son is the mirror of a decaying, termite-eaten
society. When moral values crumble and accumulated wealth becomes man's supreme
canopy, reverence for parents evaporates from the hearts of children. The young
begin viewing their elders as intolerable burdens. Hollow ostentation drains
the divine light from their very nature, reducing the human being to a beast.
Your letter stands as a tragic testament to societal decay. May Allah have
mercy!
Every night before retiring to bed, recite 101
times:
Allāhu
Nūrus-samāwāti wal-arḍ
(اَللّٰهُ نُوْرُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ)
With eyes closed, visualize your son, blow upon him
in imagination, and supplicate sincerely for his guidance. God willing, prayers
will be offered on your behalf in the collective meditation circle as well.
Question:
My infant sister, who is one year and three months
old, suddenly develops high fever. This has occurred roughly three times. The
first time the fever struck, she lost consciousness, though by evening she
recovered. The second time, her limbs twisted into contortions, and she let out
a piercing shriek before falling unconscious; the following day, measles
erupted across her skin. She had been sleeping soundly when the fever rushed to
her brain. Her legs turn cold as ice. When she can no longer endure the agony,
she begins to tremble uncontrollably, accompanied by violent hiccups. She had
fevers prior to this, but never of such severity. This is the third time it has
happened. Her heart has grown so weak that another recurrence may prove fatal.
Answer:
Procure a piece of peony root (‘Ūd-e-Ṣalīb), peel and carve it with a knife into a smooth
amulet tablet, and engrave the prescribed talismanic formula upon it using the
sharp tip of a knife. Thread it through a blue cord and place it around the
child’s neck. God willing, the child will regain robust health and vigor.
