Question:
I suffer from severe mental,
nervous, and physical exhaustion. I am nineteen years old and currently a
student. Whatever I study fades from my memory within a single day. My distant
vision is also profoundly weak; I tried relentlessly to grow accustomed to
spectacles, yet without success. My body resembles a frail rack of bones. While
my facial features are passable, there is no magnetism or vitality in them. My
musculature feels entirely limp and devoid of tone. For this reason, I avoid
social company out of persistent embarrassment. I indulge in no harmful habits.
My father is likewise a lean and delicate man, which may explain my own
constitution. I long to regain robust health, sustain mental presence and
clarity at all times, and cultivate an attractive, distinguished persona.
Answer:
Every morning prior to sunrise,
stand facing north. Inhale slowly and deeply. As you draw the breath inward,
visualize radiant waves of health and vital energy coursing into your entire
being. When your chest is filled with air, recite silently within your heart
once: Yā Raḥīmu Yā Murīdu Yā Allāh (یا رحیم یا مرید یا اللہ). Thereafter, exhale smoothly
without holding your breath. Perform this exercise seven times. Gradually, as
this becomes second nature, increase the repetitions to eleven. Enrich your
diet with fish and fresh raw vegetables, while abstaining strictly from
unwholesome, junk foods.
Question:
For several years, my son has
been uttering disjointed and erratic statements. We sought treatment for him,
and he remained well for five years, after which the illness relapsed. He
complains of heart palpitations and restlessness, weeping incessantly. He is my
grown son, gifted and exceptionally upright, who consistently secured first
place in his studies. Today, all his peers are thriving in distinguished
positions, while he has fallen far behind. He resides in London, and the
physical distance between us leaves me constantly sick with worry. Please favor
me with a prayer—and a medical prescription, if applicable—so that he may
recover fully. I shall be profoundly grateful.
Answer:
Every night following the Isha
prayer, recite Yā Badī‘u (یَا بَدِیْعُ) 100 times,
preceded and concluded by Durood Sharif eleven times; then, visualize your son
and blow upon him in imagination. In addition, recite Yā ‘Alīmu (یَا
عَلِیْمُ) once over a small quantity of water,
morning and evening, blow upon it, and have him drink it (or have someone
present administer it). The designated duration of this spiritual practice is
ninety days.
