Mass Psychosomatic Hysteria, Persecutory Amulets, and Household Trauma

 Question:

Approximately a year and a half ago, we purchased our current residence. Following initial days of peace, illness struck every member of our household. It began with severe deterioration in our mother’s health, progressing until virtually everyone fell chronically ill. One evening, while the family was away attending a sacred gathering (Mīlād Sharīf), an incident occurred that shattered our composure.

At the time, our young domestic assistant was walking across the lounge carpet when an upright object pierced his foot; peeling back the carpet, we discovered an ordinary ballpoint pen bent into a sharp "V" shape and forced into the fibers. While still bewildered, the assistant spotted a gleaming sewing needle standing upright within the master bedroom, its sharp point oriented upward and its eye buried into the carpet. This needle was likewise bent into a "V" shape.

A thorough search unearthed a total of seventy-five similarly bent needles embedded across the carpets, a sight that caused our hair to stand on end. Needles continued surfacing until noon the following day. When our mother returned and witnessed the scene, she broke down weeping; our father, who had never believed in occult phenomena, was deeply unnerved. Ever since that day, our commerce has steadily disintegrated, straightforward efforts yield ruinous outcomes, our domestic atmosphere is toxic, and no one enjoys health. Prescribe a remedy.

Answer:

Take a skein of blue thread and measure eleven strands equal to your mother’s total height, from the crown of her head to the tip of her big toe. Fold these eleven strands fourfold into a single cord, and tie a loose knot at one end. Recite Surah Al-Falaq in its entirety once, blow into the knot, and pull it firmly tight.

Burn this knotted cord over fire. As it burns, it will emit a sharp, acrid stench (charānd); repeat this burning ritual daily until the foul burning odor ceases entirely to manifest.

For five consecutive Thursdays, feed an impoverished person between the Maghrib and Isha prayers. Furthermore, ensure that meat, eggs, and fermented foods are entirely excluded from your household cooking for a period of five weeks.
