visiting specialist from London, who fitted an auditory prosthesis into her
ear; nevertheless, she cannot discern sound unless one shouts forcefully. We
hope you will provide an effective remedy. Inform me what fee I should remit

Answer:
Take sweet almond kernels, sweet fennel seeds (saunf),
and crystallized rock sugar (kūzah miṣrī) in equal proportions by weight. Grind them into a
fine compound powder using a brass mortar and pestle. Administer one teaspoon
of this powder three times daily—morning, evening, and night. Furthermore,
formulate a medicinal collyrium (kajal) utilizing yellow mustard oil,
and apply a single application to both eyes nightly at bedtime.
Using pure saffron and rose water, inscribe the
following upon three unblemished white porcelain plates:
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ
الر ۚ تِلْكَ آيَاتُ
الْكِتَابِ الْمُبِينِ
الرَّحْمٰنُ
الرَّحِیْمُ
Wash one plate with clean water each morning, evening,
and night, and administer the water to the girl to drink. Maintain this entire
medical and spiritual regimen for six consecutive months.
