Question:
I am a destitute widow living in ceaseless anguish. I
have a solitary son whose character has been ruined by dissolute companions.
From dawn until dusk, he wanders the streets with them, returning home past
eleven at night. He steals and liquidates our household belongings to feast
with his companions in restaurants. He has abandoned his education and treats
me with appalling disrespect. He is my only child. Beholding his degradation,
violent, choking sobs (hichkiyāñ) seize me. What dreams did I not
nurture for him? Deliver my only child from destruction.
Answer:
When your son has fallen into deep nocturnal slumber,
stand quietly beside his head and recite softly:
Bismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm. Bal huwa Qur’ānun
majīd, fī Lawḥin maḥfūẓ (Surah Al-Buruj,
85:21-22)
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ۔ بَلْ هُوَ قُرْآنٌ مَّجِيدٌ فِي لَوْحٍ مَّحْفُوظٍ
(Nay, but it is a glorious Quran, inscribed upon a
Preserved Tablet)
Recite in a gentle voice that does not disturb the
sleeper's rest. The prescribed duration of this spiritual discipline is
forty-one consecutive days.
Question:
A distressing anatomical change has developed: the
cranial bones of my forehead—directly superior to both eyebrows—have begun
protruding outward, creating an unsightly structural deformity. I yearn for my
forehead to become smooth and uniform once more, as it was five years ago.
Prescribe a therapy to alleviate my distress, and remember me in your prayers.
Answer:
Upon concluding all daily activities at night prior to
retiring to sleep, recite:
Bismillāh ir-Raḥmān ir-Raḥīm. Innal-insāna lafī
khusr (Surah Al-Asr, 103:2)
بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِیْمِ۔ إِنَّ الْإِنْسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
(Verily, man is in
profound loss)
100 times over a cup of water, blow upon it, and drink
it. Thereafter, close your eyes and enter into contemplative meditation (Murāqabah),
visualizing radiant beams of soft rose-pink light enveloping your
consciousness. Maintain this therapeutic regimen for ninety consecutive days
without omitting a single day.
Question:
I recognize that despair is disbelief and hopelessness
is sin, yet I am hypersensitive, chronically taciturn, and have suffered from
acute nervousness since childhood. Obsessive overthinking and an agonizing
inferiority complex consume me. I have no friends, which deepens this
alienation.
Attending any social gathering triggers unbearable
agitation; I cower before everyone, utterly incapable of sitting among
respected elders, male peers, or women. Returning from social functions, I wish
for death. Companions shun me because I barely articulate four or five
sentences within an hour. Intrusive, nonsensical thoughts dominate my brain. I
cannot sustain eye contact with anyone; walking in public feels humiliating,
and I have never smiled warmly in conversation.
Whenever I sit among company, faces fall around me
because my subconscious involuntarily twists my countenance into an unsightly
grimace, leaving me convinced everyone brands me a fool. Daily existence is an
ordeal. Pray for me in your meditative assembly so that God may deliver me from
this torment and bless me with self-respect, sociability, and true companions.
Answer:
Procure a glass plate measuring 9x12 inches, paint it
in a soft, solid pink tone, and gaze steadily upon it at intermittent intervals
throughout the day.
Every night before sleeping, recite Yā Allāhu (یَا اَللّٰهُ) 100 times, and engage in contemplative meditation (Murāqabah),
visualizing an expanse of serene, radiant celestial blue light enveloping your
consciousness.
