Question:
My emotional sensitivity is so tender that watching a
melancholy cinematic scene brings tears unbidden to my eyes; presenting an
official petition before a senior superior in the office similarly induces
weeping, and listening to devotional elegies triggers violent, choking sobs.
Yet paradoxically, under ordinary domestic
circumstances, I am intensely authoritarian, harsh, and severe. My tone
frequently turns so rough that even my elders tremble with apprehension.
Inwardly, intense remorse gnaws at my soul, yet I do not hesitate to physically
discipline my children over trivial matters. This behavioral pattern has ruined
my physical countenance: an aura of harsh sullenness and gloom clouds my face.
When I look at myself in the mirror, my brain experiences a visceral shock.
Answer:
Every morning strictly prior to sunrise, recite Yā
Wadūdu (یَا وَدُوْدُ) once over a single sip of water and drink
it on an empty stomach. It is essential that this practice is executed
invariably before the sun emerges above the horizon.
Question:
At 1:30 in the night, while returning from a cinema
with two companions, cries of "Help! Help!" erupted from the
private quarters of the local mosque imam. Rushing to his aid, we discovered
that armed ruffians were attempting to abduct his daughter. We fought the
assailants, sustained injuries, and summoned police assistance.
Iniquitously, the imam took a false oath upon the Holy
Quran and, swayed by financial inducement, submitted a perjured testimony
framing the three of us for the crime. His own daughter protested to her
parents that we had risked our lives and bled to protect their honor, yet greed
drove the imam to betray us. We are now financially ruined by endless court
proceedings, lacking the five thousand rupees demanded to settle. Disgust with
worldly wealth consumes me; I pray for death to escape this injustice. Deliver
us from this sudden nightmare.
Answer:
May Allah Almighty enfold you in every dimension of
His divine mercy. Do not be consumed by anxiety. Let all three companions
recite continually at all times—while walking, standing, or resting, with or
without ritual ablution:
Naṣrun mina Allāhi wa-fatḥun qarīb (Surah As-Saff,
61:13)
نَصْرٌ مِّنَ اللّٰهِ
وَفَتْحٌ قَرِیْبٌ
(Help from Allah and an imminent victory)
Persist in this sacred invocation; divine vindication
will prevail.
