I am an educated young woman holding B.Ed. and M.A. degrees. My domestic circumstances are such that we cannot survive without my employment. I have strived diligently to secure a job and appeared for various interviews, yet to this day, I remain unemployed. I am deeply distressed on account of this. Reading your column brought a ray of hope; I trust you will resolve my predicament swiftly. Moreover, someone suggested that my employment prospects have been supernaturally bound, as I have one or two detractors. Kindly clarify whether someone has indeed placed an occult impediment on my livelihood or if this is merely a natural hindrance. I pray extensively after offering my daily prayers.

I recently read a report in the press indicating that 3.6 million people are currently unemployed in Britain. In a country as highly developed as Britain, there are neither jobs nor livelihoods for them. Does this imply that the employment of all 3.6 million individuals has been supernaturally bound? O sister! What has come over us? Why do we fail to reflect that if employment and livelihoods could be supernaturally bound, who on earth would be able to survive? Everything is accomplished through a person’s own effort, courage, and diligent hard work. If conventional employment proves elusive, there are numerous other avenues for earning a living. Utilize those avenues, and to fortify your inner willpower, recite Yā Ḥayyu Yā Qayyūm (یا حی یا قیوم) at all times. Having earned a Master’s degree does not signify that you must work solely seated at a desk and chair simply because you are highly educated. Learn a practical craft and work with steadfast perseverance. Allah Almighty will bestow abundant blessings.
