Recurrent Calamities and Family Turmoil

 Question:

Seven years ago, our household was exceptionally prosperous. Then my father passed away, and since that day, misfortunes seem to have found a permanent home with us. Endless tribulations surround us every day. Following my father’s death, my mother lost her mental balance, after which my eldest brother’s condition deteriorated severely. A vast amount of wealth was expended on his treatment, and upon the advice of others, we arranged his marriage. Two years after getting married, he separated from us. Thereafter, the brother younger than him suffered the same mental affliction and eventually passed away. Now, another younger brother is exhibiting identical symptoms: he utters erratic statements, finds fault in everyone, and quarrels even with his own siblings. He has no heart for work and harbors an aversion toward people. Persuaded by others, he sold his shop and invested the capital into a business venture, which yielded no return. In short, our home is never free from crisis. Please instruct a litany or spiritual practice, and pray for our family in the meditation circle.

Answer:

Procure forty small pieces of frankincense (Lobān). Upon each piece, etch the numeral "9" (۹) using the tip of a needle or pin; it is not essential for the inscribed number to be visibly discernible. At night, place one piece of frankincense over smoldering coals and let its aromatic smoke permeate throughout the entire house. Burn one piece daily in this manner until all forty pieces are exhausted. In addition, designate one specific day each week to feed the impoverished, and make supporting the destitute a regular personal habit.

Congenital Ptosis and Inability to Raise Eyelids

 Question:

I am certain you possess a remedy for my eyes. By birth, my eyelids do not lift upward, though my vision is perfectly intact; I can read even under moonlight. Externally, my eyes appear normal, but whenever I must look up, I am compelled to tilt my entire head upward. At times, I must physically raise my eyelids with my fingers to see an object. Surgeons recommend surgery, but they caution that it is an exceptionally delicate and risky procedure. For the sake of God, prescribe a cure so that I may fully partake in this magnificent blessing of sight.

Answer:

Take cleaned black chickpeas, send them to a traditional grinding mill, and have them ground into fine flour. Prepare flatbreads (roṭī) from this flour, and consume one bread smeared with butter or fresh dairy cream three times daily: in the morning, at midday, and in the evening. Within three weeks, a discernible improvement will be perceived; however, continue eating this chickpea flatbread for three full months. God willing, your affliction will be resolved.
