parents. I suffer from a profound inferiority complex, lacking self-confidence
and emotional steadfastness. Constitutionally, I appear younger than my
chronological age; youths younger than me look more mature. Childishness marks
my temperament and personality, leaving my countenance devoid of presence or
authority. My companions harbor elevated aspirations, yet I involuntarily
perceive myself as inferior. I yearn to purge all fear from my heart save the
awe of Allah, so that I may become brave and resilient. Immense family
responsibilities await me, as I am the solitary brother to several sisters.
Answer:
Following the completion of each obligatory prayer,
recite the Quranic verse:
A-lā inna awliyā’a Allāhi lā khawfun ‘alayhim wa-lā
hum yaḥzanūn
أَلَا إِنَّ
أَوْلِيَاءَ اللَّهِ لَا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
(Behold! Verily upon the friends of Allah there is no
fear, nor do they grieve)
Close your eyes for several minutes and focus your
inner gaze upon your heart. Persist in this discipline; existential dread and
feelings of inferiority will systematically dissolve.
