Dual Pathologies-Unified Visualization: Schizophrenia and Contamination OCD

 Question:

1.      For years, our family has been mired in distress. My twenty-five-year-old elder brother lives a completely purposeless existence. He has abandoned his studies, takes interest in nothing, and spends his hours either wandering aimlessly or sleeping. At times, he displays infantile behavior; at other times, violent rage seizes him, even prompting him to physically strike our parents and utter foul abuse. He goes unwashed for days. Frequently, bouts of involuntary laughter overtake him, leaving him chuckling aimlessly without cause. Extensive medical interventions have yielded zero improvement; treatments continue, yet his deterioration remains static. He was once an intellectually brilliant student, passing Matriculation in the first division; however, securing a second division in Intermediate barred him from entering engineering college. This failure dealt him a devastating psychological shock. He enrolled successively in BSc and BCom programs, abandoning each after the first year. Having achieved no degree over six wasted years, he has discarded education entirely. We suspect black magic, though we are financially comfortable and lack nothing material.

2.      My brother-in-law cannot sustain focus in any enterprise. He sold his commercial shop, secured employment two months later, and resigned within fifteen days; presently, he remains completely idle. If questioned, he reacts with hostility. His obsessive scrupulosity is severe: he washes his hands continuously for fifteen minutes, takes over an hour to bathe, and perceives every object as ritually defiled (nāpāk). Impart a spiritual litany that my elder sister can easily recite.

Answer:

A single visualization practice is prescribed to resolve both conditions. At night prior to falling asleep, close your eyes and visualize a luminous screen standing directly before you, upon which the inverted portraits of your brother and brother-in-law appear. Through the eye of inward imagination, behold their images displayed upside down; the moment this mental image stabilizes, use your focused willpower to turn the inverted portraits upright, and then conclude the session. Maintain this meditative practice uninterruptedly for one full month.
